PS5 with disc is no longer sold with red numbers

04.08.2021 20:39

It recently became known that the PS5 has sold ten million copies and now another milestone has been reached. The production of the disc-equipped and slightly more expensive version of the console has reached a level that it no longer costs to build the unit than it does to sell it. The digital version also seems to be reaching the same level very soon.

With the PS3, it took years before Sony reached the same level and for the PS4, it took about six months. Considering all the production hassle, component shortages and a splash pandemic, nine months is still quite acceptable to reach this achievement.

Diablo Immortal is delayed to 2022

04.08.2021 15:35

Activision Blizzard has decided postponed the release of Diablo Immortal until the beginning of 2022.

This has been done for the simple reason that the developers need more time to make the game better after the response from the closed alpha and to make a second alpha test including the changes to the big 40 player PvP feature, Cycle of Strife.

"Following feedback provided by test participants of the Closed Alpha, our team has been tuning core and endgame features. For example, we’re iterating on PvP content like the Cycle of Strife to make it more accessible, alongside late-game PvE content like the Helliquary to make it more engaging. We’re also working to provide controller support for those who want to play our game in a different way. However, these changes and additional opportunities to improve our gameplay experience will not be realized in the 2021 timeframe we had previously communicated. So, the game is now planned for release in the first half of 2022, which will allow us to add substantial improvements to the whole game."

Blizzard's HR manager leaves the company

04.08.2021 15:00

As previously written, the CEO of Blizzard has resigned, but that does not seem to be the only change that is taking place in the company's top condition right now. Bloomberg reports that the company's HR manager Jesse Meschuk has also left the company. Blizzard has not made any statement regarding Meschek's resignation, but recent reports of the company's problematic treatment of its female employees show a fairly clear picture that changes in the HR department are necessary.

In addition to this, Acitivision Blizzard's investors have started the process with a class-action lawsuit as they feel that the gaming giant has withheld information about how the situation has been in construction, which they believe has led to stock inflation. Since the company was sued for sexual harassment, the stock has gone from being worth $ 91 to $ 79, which is a whopping 15% down. The investors havent announced anything yet about a class-action - but it remains to be seen.
