Yesterday the Nordic prime ministers of the Nordic region meet in Örnsköldsvik, Sweden. They discussed something very important for the future of mobile communications for the nordic countries, and all the services building up on it - the fifth generation mobile network - 5G. A letter of intent was presented in which the common vision is presented.

- "The Nordic Region is one of the world's most innovative regions. The development of 5G is on the rise and the Nordic region is at the forefront of this development. It creates jobs and prosperity in our countries", states Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (Sweden) in a press release.

One vision is that the Nordic region should be the first interconnected 5G region in the world, and for that to work, it presents a number of areas where cooperation will be intensified.

Stefan Löfven (Sweden) and his colleges Erna Solberg (Norway), Lars Løkke Rasmussen (Denmark), Juha Sipilä (Finland) and Katrín Jakobsdóttir (Iceland), were also attending an exhibition in which various Nordic companies presented products that benefit from 5G, such as drones delivering heart starters and selfdriving transportation. The meeting is then concluded with a meeting of representatives of the Nordic Council of Ministers, the Nordic Council and the Faroe Islands.

In the declaration of intent, a number of important points are presented in order for the Nordic countries to get good speed on the work with 5G technology.

Lets hope that this document puts some speed in the development of the network in these countries, which seems more and more needed to get the future services to work.
