Spotify is testing a cheaper subscription

Spotify has started testing a new subscription level that they call Spotify Plus. With Spotify Plus, you can still listen to commercials at regular intervals, but there are no limits to how often you can skip to the next song and users can also specifically choose which songs they want to listen to.

Spotify Plus costs about one euro a month, however, Spotify mentioned to The Verge that there are no guarantees that this new subscription level will be launched in its current form.

"Some tests end up paving the way for new offerings or enhancements while others may only provide learnings. We do not have any additional information to share at this time."

It remains to be seen if Spotify can make Spotify Plus work and if it will be launched to the masses at some point.
