Sivers IMA, together with Uppsala University in Sweden, has been granted a loan of 4 million SEK for the development of 5G mm wave RFIC with integrated antennas.
A project led by Sivers IMA, and is carried out together with the Department of Engineering Sciences at Ångström Laboratory at Uppsala University. The money itself comes from Vinnova.

- "Once again, Vinnovas gives us the confidence to develop a unique product, this time for the future's high-speed 5G telecommunications network. 5G will be a very important part of all telecommunications networks in the future. It was confirmed not least by the Nordic Council Ministers last week when they entered into a new in-depth cooperation on the development of 5G, where the ambition is for the Nordic Region to be at the forefront. With this contribution from Vinnova and our own venture within 5G, we will now be able to contribute to this vision" says Anders Storm, CEO of Sivers IMA, in a press release.

The goal of the project is to develop a 5G mmWave RFIC including an antenna that is part of the circuit package itself. With the product, Sivers IMA will be able to inherit a small and cost-effective 5G chip.

The project will be the second one within 2 years that Vinnova finances for Sivers IMA.
