Rumor that Netflix is making a Pokémon series

Variety reports that Netflix is producing a TV series featuring real actors based on the popular Pokémon games.

The whole thing could be reminiscent of the film Detective Pikachu which was released in 2019, a film in which Ryan Reynolds and Justice Smith, among others, starred. Netflix already runs several animated Pokémon series today, such as Pokemon: Indigo League and Pokemon Journeys.

Given that Netflix stated earlier this month that it would start betting on games, there has already been speculation that Netflix may also have an exclusive Pokémon game linked to the upcoming TV series.
