Cryptohackers are offered $ 500,000 in bug rewards
The Chinese cryptocurrency platform Poly Network now offers the hacker who stole $ 610 million from the company's users a reward of $ 500,000. The condition, however, is that the hacker returns the entire amount that was stolen. Poly Network calls the reward a so-called "bug bounty", rewards that are paid to outsiders who find bugs in a company's system.
Whether the hacker, whom Poly Network calls "Mr. White Hat", has accepted the offer is still unknown. It was last week that Poly Network's service was attacked, which resulted in the hacker being able to move cryptocurrencies corresponding to more than SEK 5 billion from Poly Network's users.
However, several of the addresses to which the currencies were moved were blocked, which led to the hacker starting to return some of the stolen cryptocurrencies. On Friday, cryptocurrencies equivalent to $ 340 million had been returned to Poly Network's platform.
